At Fur The North, we pride ourselves on ethical sourcing and sustainable harvesting of this beautiful 100% renewable natural resource. Likewise, our tanning procedure is also ecofriendly. Our process includes environmentally friendly and biodegradable products, energy efficient machinery and equipment as well as a water recycling process. When you choose to tan your hides with us, you can be sure that attention to detail and quality workmanship goes in to each and every hide.
All furs are ethically sourced from Canadian trappers or sustainably harvested by Fur The North in the rich forest of the North Shore of Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada. Fur bearers naturally reproduce at a rate that ecosystems cannot support. At Fur The North, we ethically harvest this surplus natural resource. Therefore, promoting a better balanced ecosystem.
What sets us apart is we are trappers operating a trapline, a tannery and a sewing machine [4 sewing machines actually :-) ]. We harvest prime winter pelts and turn them into the warmest garments you'll ever own while ensuring quality throughout the entire process.
